We were happy to see that the place looked a lot more lived in than in the Pinterest photo, reminiscent to that of Casa del Catalina, which suited us perfectly. Inscriptions on the walls of former guests or local artists is always up our alley. It gives the feeling that the place is well loved and we are always interested in finding out why. What we weren't so happy to see, was that there were not very many people. But hey, we were there to party and that's what we were going to do! After knocking back a few of their home-made dark red "monkey's blood" booze, taking a lesson on how to properly take a tequila shot (which apparently involves swishing it around your mouth for 15 seconds), Kassandra invading their music playlist with Underworld and talking absolute drunken nonsense with fellow party-goers, we had had the party we were after.
After our stay, we found out that the place is in a kind of limbo in terms of management since the owner was sent to prison. Hence the lack of people at the party. People aren't talking about it as much and we'd even heard that some places are refusing to put up their flyers. At the moment, there is a little bit of ambiguity as to who is going to run the joint. Nonetheless, we met one of our best travel mates at this place, we loved waking up to the howler monkeys and, come on... it's a treehouse. We loved it. It may not be run perfectly smoothly at the moment, but it's definitely worth staying for a few nights.
