Before leaving Mexico we couldn't help but visit another little paradise. We heard from the hostel owner in Tulum that Bacalar was a really nice spot on a lagoon. The last time we were in a lagoon, we were swimming in glitter (ie. bioluminescent plankton), so our connotations of lagoons were positive. This time we weren't swimming in glitter, but instead crystal clear, sparkling blue water. The hostel (Magic Bacalar), with it's relaxed atmosphere, private jetty on the water and kitchen, (meaning another welcomed break from tortillas) kept us there for an extra three nights than what we had intended.
