lake titicaca, bolivia

Bolivia Hop
We wanted to get to Bolivia as quickly and easily as possible and Bolivia Hop was great for this. We jumped on a bus and they took us across the border from Peru, to Lake Titicaca, Copacabana and into La Paz.

Uros Islands
These are called the floating islands. They are islands made from reeds floating in the middle of the lake and people actually live on them. Pretty cool. While on the islands, it feels like a shameless show for tourists. But this time we really didn't care because it's pretty awesome.

Copacabana
We only spent a couple of hours in this town for lunch. We could have hopped off the bus and stayed overnight but we have been to a few towns like this one and didn't feel like we needed to stay. It seemed to be a small hippie town and very touristy. Definitely something we have seen before.

Isla Del Sol
Part of the stop off in Copacabana included a boat trip out to Isla Del Sol. The island is free of motor vehicles and has very little pollution, which was a beautiful change from many other places we have seen. We hiked around the island for about 2 hours and the clear conditions made for spectacular views of the snow capped Andes.
